Rackowe and White, at Art Vandelay, London
Using light, kinetic elements and common industrial
materials, British sculptor, Nathaniel Rackowe builds
architectural-like constructs whoselight-emitting nature,
in-turn, serves to expose the architectural spaces they
inhabit. Conceived in the most part as binary structures,
light punctuating solid forms, Rackowe transports the
viewer from passive observer to participant. Experiencing
Rackowe’s work requires one to navigate through and
around his constructs as the components shuttle, rotate,
rise, and fall, prompting the viewerto not only a
physical but psychological experience of space. For Art
Vandelay Rackowe will present a new floor to ceiling
tower-like structure made from aluminium scaffold poles
and fluorescent lights.
