Solo Project at Art Basel Miami Beach

This ambitious piece, Black Shed (Expanded), was
built in 8 days in Miami for Art Positions, at Art
Basel Miami Beach.
It seemed like a great idea; save the cost and hassle
of shipping, and build the whole piece in Miami in
the week leading up Art Basel.
The problem was, while I did my best to make sure that all the materials I ordered and had delivered to the studio I was borrowing in North Miami were the same as I would use in London, unsurprisingly there were some regional differences...
The shed, for example, came in a lot more parts that I expected, as can be seen in the photo above.
In the end all was fine, after a week of 14 hour days, and the incredible support from my Miami friends. I would particularly like to thank Reeve Schumacher for his tireless work on the piece, Steve Reppert for the loan of his studio, car and tools, Claudia Gallegos for her wiring expertise, and the TM Sisters for emergency pizza.
The piece made quite an impact at Art Basel, and happily ended up being purchased by Ella Cisneros:
